It's that Friday Feeling!

Pippi rocks!

We love Pippi Longstocking.
The unconventional eight year old heroine who was created by Swedish author Astrid Lindgren
for her nine year old daughter, Karin, when she was home sick.
Check out the adventures of the girl with 'the strength of ten policemen' who is known to pick
up a horse one-handed.
Maybe this will inspire you to get creative the next time your little one is ill.
Inbetween blowing their nose and feeding them 'get well' chicken soup that is.

Bonfire night prison sentence

Oh dear, he looks like a little prisoner, longing to go out and experience the fun.
Sorry Oliver. Blame mum and dad!
We played safe and watched the fireworks from our upstairs bedroom window this year,
not the most exciting place for a three year old boy.
We'll be out there with the explosions, whizzes and bangs next year, promise!

Yay Yertle the Turtle!

Dr Seuss never ceases to amaze us.
He was so prolific and created such wonderful characters and engaging stories.
We have a copy of Yertle the Turtle and Other Stories from 1984
(belonging to Britt) and it's still in regular action with our little ones today.
If we need to learn a life lesson or just remind ourselves of some good
old fashioned common sense we catch up with Yertle, Gertrude McFuzz
and Bear and Rabbit in The Big Bragg.
I'm sure education isn't meant to be this much fun!
